Can AI-generated discussions help us learn?

The eLearning Coach Newsletter

October 28, 2024

Greetings Reader,

The first time I heard a discussion generated by an AI tool, it was both impressive and eerie. Since then, I've been experimenting with Google's NotebookLM (the AI tool), to see if it can make our jobs a little easier or enhance learning. I think it's important that we stay up to date and understand where AI currently fits into our world and how it may fit in the future.

In the first article, I run through how to use NotebookLM (it's easy) and what some possible uses could be. Can it save us time? Can it help us learn? Next is a podcast with two audio overviews generated by NotebookLM. I'd love to hear your reaction, which you can leave in the Comments below the podcast.

While we're on the subject of audio, let's not forget the amazing talents of professional voiceover artists. They are wonderful to work with, will take direction, and can often speak in many different voices. Professional voice actors make learning products shine. The third article explains how to prepare scripts when working with voice talent.

Five Easy Ways Instructional Designers Can Use Notebook LM

Are there uses for the AI research tool NotebookLM for instructional design? Here are five possibilities.
